What is the impact of federal funding cuts on National Public Radio (NPR)?

As of October 1, 2025, National Public Radio (NPR) and other public media outlets no longer receive federal funding after a congressional vote to rescind it. This follows an executive order earlier in the year that attempted to cut off the funding, which historically made up a small but crucial part of NPR's budget.
